Wapwallopen is an unincorporated community consisting of the Townships of Conyngham and Hollenback.  The areas lie at the foot of Nescopeck Mountain and is bordered by the Susquehanna River on the western side.  The area is made up of farmlands, dense forest, streams and lakes. Little villages such as Hobbie and Wapwallopen are part of the charm of the area.  Two natural attractions in the area are Council Cup with breathtaking views of the Susquehanna River and Powder Mill Falls which are a series of waterfalls in the Wapwallopen Creek before it meets the Susquehanna River.

The area is known for its quietness and safety.  Many homes and farms dot the landscape though and the villages contain a variety of older homes clustered into neighborhood settings.

Hollenback Township is serviced by the Berwick School District and Conyngham Township by the Greater Nanticoke Area School District.  In you search for your perfect home, know that some for the far outlying areas in the Townships of Slocum and Dorrance have a Wapwallopen mailing address, however they are part of the Crestwood School District.
